Bach’s Air on the G String (Brass Quartet or Brass Ensemble)

Overview

Air (on the G string) is based on the second movement of Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D major, BWV 1068 by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750). August Wilhelmj arranged it in 1871 by adjusting the first violin part. This arrangement has been transposed and adjusted slightly for the instruments.

This arrangement could be played by a brass quartet, a brass quintet (having the two trumpets take turns playing a phrase each), or a brass ensemble. Soli Deo gloria
