From Parting Strengthens Poetry (1996)

The times of passing joys and trials,
but twelve all told to take and turn,
and we will be back to my home,
together then, our life new-planted.

Growing in God’s sweet soft soil:
our love that hasn’t learned to love
for lack of time to learn.
We’ll come together here to love
what once was mine but then is ours.

Partake of food in recipes
all spiced and cooked up full with joy.
I smile to think of you, my love.
To share, my love,
the gift of God I have by grace:
what once was mine but then is ours.
