10. The theory of enharmonic reinterpretation

These music theory handouts and worksheets cover enharmonic reinterpretation. Enharmonic reinterpretation is a process whereby a chromatic chord can be respelled to function in a new key. It was used by some composers as a means of creating colorful modulations.

About these pages: Music theory is an integral part of great musicianship. This page contains music theory handouts and worksheets that I use when I teach music theory at the college level. They have helped my students learn music theory, and I hope they are helpful to you also as you begin to learn music theory as well. If you have absolutely no theory knowledge, you might want to go to musictheory.net and learn about clefs and staff notation before exploring here.
